Bats come back to life as Hofstra eliminates Kennesaw and advances to championship game - 5/21/12

EAST MEADOW, NY - After a 1 hour and 30 minute rain delay, Joe Elio hit a two-out grand slam followed by a solo home run by Michael Nunez and Hofstra never looked back. Brian Adler picked up the save as Hofstra eliminates Kennesaw 9-7 and will advance to the 2012 National Championship Game tomorrow night vs Illinois at 7PM. View Box Score

 

Errors prove costly as Hofstra misses chance to put Kennesaw away - 5/21/12

COLUMBUS, GA - Michael Nunez held the Owls to only 3 hits, but 3 unearned runs in the second and lack of timely hitting cost Hofstra a chance to advance to the championship as they fall to Kennesaw 4-1. The two teams will now play in an elimination game at 4:00PM. View Box Score

COLUMBUS, GA - Jon Raimondo singled twice and drove in four runs in the 2nd inning, Kevin Miraval gutted a 149 pitch effort, and Greg Brodersen made a game saving catch in the last inning to defeat Kennesaw in Game 2. Five runs with 2 out in the 6th boost Hofstra past TAMU Corps of Cadets in Game 1 of the World Series - 5/18/12
