Tom Scopelitits, is entering his first season as assistant coach of Hofstra Club Baseball. Prior to coaching, Scopelitis served as the Pride's ace on the mound in 2009 and 2008 and brings a plethora of pitching knowledge and prowess to the pitching staff. As a member of the Pride, Scopelitis compiled a 9-2 record in conference play with a 3.02 ERA. In 81 innings he allowed only 77 hits, 34 walks, while striking out 106. He also held opponents to a .241 batting average over his Hofstra career. 2008 was arguably
Scopelitis's best season as a member of the Pride; going 4-1 with a 2.63
ERA. In 40 innings, Scopelitis currently pitches for the Long Island Royals in Division 2 Wood West of the Stan Musual summer league. In 41.1 innings pitched this past summer, Scopelitis went 5-2 with a 1.31 ERA and 0.80 WHIP. In his first year of coaching for the Pride, Scopelitis will be working with the pitching staff, helping the Pride's young pitchers make the transition from High School to Collegiate baseball. Scopelitis graduated from Hofstra with a B.B.A. in Sports Management. He currently resides in Floral Park, NY.
