Tom Scopelitits, is entering his first season as assistant coach of Hofstra Club Baseball.

Prior to coaching, Scopelitis served as the Pride's ace on the mound in 2009 and 2008 and brings a plethora of pitching knowledge and prowess to the pitching staff. As a member of the Pride, Scopelitis compiled a 9-2 record in conference play with a 3.02 ERA. In 81 innings he allowed only 77 hits, 34 walks, while striking out 106. He also held opponents to a .241 batting average over his Hofstra career.

2008 was arguably Scopelitis's best season as a member of the Pride; going 4-1 with a 2.63 ERA. In 40 innings, Scopelitis struck out 46 while walking only 16, holding opponents to a .213 batting average. In the fall season of 2008, Scopelitis did not allow an earned run in 28 innings pitched. In his four starts (all complete game shutouts), Scopelitis went 4-0 with a 0.00 ERA. He struck out 22 batters while walking only 6, and held opponents to a .087 batting average. One of his greatest starts as a member of the Pride came on October 3, 2008, when he pitched a complete game 2 hitter against NCBA Division I opponent Pitt in Game 1 of the 2008 Williamsport Warmup.

Scopelitis currently pitches for the Long Island Royals in Division 2 Wood West of the Stan Musual summer league. In 41.1 innings pitched this past summer, Scopelitis went 5-2 with a 1.31 ERA and 0.80 WHIP.

In his first year of coaching for the Pride, Scopelitis will be working with the pitching staff, helping the Pride's young pitchers make the transition from High School to Collegiate baseball.

Scopelitis graduated from Hofstra with a B.B.A. in Sports Management. He currently resides in Floral Park, NY.
